Articles

Articles published in the journal have in general been presented at roundtable seminars for academic experts arranged at the Donner Institute or at our co-operating research centres. Therefore, each issue of Approaching Religion focuses on a specific theme that has been dealt with at a seminar and submissions are in general accepted only from scholars who have participated in the seminar in question. However, the editors welcome proposals concerning themes for future issues or articles.

The academic review of the articles is carried out in two steps. The first review and selection process is carried out in connection to the roundtable expert seminars held at the Donner Institute, to which scholars are invited on the basis of previous academic accomplishments in fields relevant to the subject of the seminar as well as on the basis of suggestions from other scholars. This process is carried out under the supervision of the editorial board. The second review round is carried out as the article is submitted to the journal by the editors, the editorial board or at times also external expert reviewers.

The journal is included in the EBSCO database Academic Search Premier: http://www.ebscohost.com/academic/academic-search-premier

It is also indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals: http://www.doaj.org/ and included in queries in Google Scholar.
